Gibson’s was full. More than full in fact. There were mix-ups with table bookings & very little space to dance. People spilled outside. It was a sheer delight to hear the duo again after a hiatus of a couple of months. Glyn lead with the singing; his delivery every bit as strong as we heard before his recent heart surgery.
Many of the songs were from the Field, See & Mason songbook but there was a certain degree of black humour with the song selection … of course there was. The hand of Sam was at work. I think it was When I Go Away that conjured the quirkiest humorous moment for me. The energy built. More & more of the crowd participated in the singing while dancers squeezed into the slither of central space in front of the bar.
Glyn was the picture of sheer determination; that will to pick up where he left off & do what he does best – sing and play guitar to entertain crowds and deliver so much enjoyment to the audience.
