The book launch was a glorious afternoon. The music at Wolfhound was supplied by 2 bands; Field, See and Mason then Doubleshot of Blues (the John Williams band). Mike Rudd and Dave Hogan both came along. Both played. Mike with both bands and Dave with Doubleshot. By the end of the afternoon there was that lovely merging of bands, when Sam See joined John with Doubleshot and those watching the stage got to observe Sam watching John’s hands as he contributed to the sound.
Then last night Doubleshot with Mike Rudd as special guest played at the MBAS (the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society) night. The bowls club venue used by MBAS has such a good sound system. Those nights are always great and last night was exceptional. John gave us some of his new songs with Mike accompanying him on harmonica, before delivering the song that keeps on giving, I’ll Be Gone.

John Williams, Mike Rudd, Bob Shannon. (Drummer Rob Dillon is out of shot.)
