Stars (including Roger McLachlan) at Basement Discs Friday Feb 21, 2020

Basement Discs is such a great venue for a 45-minute lunchtime show. Though, I suspect it is somewhat alarming for musicians cos at one point Mick Pealing made a comment about being able to see all our faces. For the audience we can each see all band members without the need for any head movement cos the stage area is compact.

The shop was full of people, most in the 60+ age group who were there to watch the Stars at one of 3 launches this week for their latest CD One More Circle Round the Sun. This CD has great songs on it & Stars began with Driving Hungry as a tempter for us. They gave us several more from the new CD plus some favourites from their sterling back catalogue like Time Stands Still and Last of the River Boats.

The time speed by. As store owner Sue delivered her final thanks to the band & asked the crowd to show their appreciation, only Roger was left on stage. He rose to the occasion, bowed graciously, beaming from ear to ear which made many cheer & clap louder.
