Stars at Basement Discs lunchtime today: Friday April 27, 2018

In the last few months I have heard sooooo much about this recently re-formed band but had never seen them until today. Country-rock band Stars originally formed in Adelaide in the 70s. Not long after they began Roger McLachlan joined them on bass.

The current line-up Mick Pealing, Mal Eastick, Glyn Dowding and Roger played together in Stars for a long time years ago and work together again now. Their newest member is Nick Charles.

Today all five squeezed on to the tiny stage at Basement Discs to deliver a great set to the lunchtime crowd. Their new CD ‘Boundary Rider’ has recently been released, along with a DVD of the same name that was filmed at the Caravan Club not long before it moved from its Drummond St location.

Stars have just begun a short tour that includes Melbourne, Sydney & Wollongong.
