Spectrum (plus one): Mike Rudd & band deliver a sterling show – August 10, 2018

Spectrum plus one (the one being Brendan Mason from Madder Lake) gave a sterling first half to the Spectrum – Madder Lake Show at the Kingston City Hall on Friday August 10. It was a busy night for Brendan: he was in both bands. The Banquet Room at the City Hall is one of the new venues now being used by the Flying Saucer Club.

It was the strongest, most cohesive show I have seen Spectrum deliver in the last few years, as Mike Rudd took us through the Spectrum history; the development of Indelible Murtceps then Ariel and back to the enduring Spectrum. Their set included songs from each era with Mike reminding us that it is 5 years now since his music partner Bill Putt died. The show included Lottery which combines the last of the lyrics that Bill ever wrote (that were found in his car after his death) & music that Mike then wrote for this song.
