Last night, Mike Rudd in his Spectrum-Indelible Murtceps-Ariel roles with special guest Glyn Mason (who was in the later line-up of Ariel) played to a filled auditorium at The Palms at Crown. Their performance was first-class with Glyn taking lead vocal with some of the Ariel songs as he had done with the band in the 70s. He has such a powerful voice.

The main act were also great & had huge numbers of over-fifties fans in the audience. Several weeks ago I commented that Kiwi musicians were everywhere in Australia & that was proved to be correct again cos Gus Fenwick is in the Bootleg band.

For the encore Mike Rudd returned to the stage to play harmonica with the Cadd band as they delivered a rollicking version of ‘Honky Tonk Woman’.
