Roger McLachlan – 45 years in Oz

Past, Present & Future is a show coming up at Fyrefly in St Kilda celebrating Roger’s many years in the music business. He’d joined a production of Godspell in the South Island in the early 70s then when the need arose for a bass player for a 6-month tour of this show through NSW & Victoria in 1974, he got the call to take this job. After that ended he didn’t return to NZ.

In his time in Oz he has played with lots of legends. He was bass player in the first line-up of LRB. He played bass at the recording of John Farnham’s You’re the Voice before touring with Jack’s Back. And in Oz he has also worked with Kiwi greats Max Merritt, Allison Durbin and Marc Hunter.

Part of the show at the Fyrefly on Oct 25, 2019 is the launching of his CD Roger This, Roger That which he describes as a ‘symphony of his mind’ before going on to label this as ‘a soundscape chillout CD.’
