As Dave commented when we had a quick chat between sets at Heinous Hounds’ gig at the Cherry Bar, playing 2 days before Christmas seemed a silly day to do an afternoon gig but an enthusiastic crowd was there to hear them.

They are a stunning blues band with 4 vocalists (including Dave) who take turns to sing. All deliver! Dave on harmonica transported me back decades to another band in another city, making listening a sheer delight. Someone in the crowd knew that Dave had just attained an anniversary: 52 years as a vocalist & harmonica-player in a series of bands. That is some milestone.

We know the Cherry is going as is ‘somewhere else’ & the chatter on Sunday was that the building had been sold. Will they maintain the atmosphere with the move & equally as important: how will they manage to keep the carpet sticky?
