Two weeks ago Hounds leader Steve Lucas had pneumonia, was very unwell but performed anyway. This time (the last time the band played at the Cherry in its current location) his health wasn’t much better. He did sing a few songs, commenting that singing was easier than talking; then he handed over the vocal duties to the others.

As it had been at the previous show, the bar was full again with just a tiny space left for the dancers. And what a great afternoon it was!

The high point for me, of the songs Dave sang was Gloria. He prefaced this by telling the crowd it was a song from his youth. He knew he was pushing the limits with the band but he’d made the right decision. It took those of us in the 65-plus age group back to our youth! And it got the dancers dancing; the boppers bopping and the singers in the crowd singing along. Thanks Dave.
