Beautifully presented, Blues Portrait by artist Pauline Bailey was launched last Sunday at the Rainbow in Fitzroy. The bar was packed & lots of those present are people whose profiles are in the book.

The book features short chapters of 45 contemporary blues musicians most Australian born; all based in Australia. Each chapter begins with a brief summary of the artist followed by an entry with that artist telling his or her own story.

It includes 3 Kiwi musicians: 2 who often feature in this blog – Kevin Borich & Dave Hogan. The 3rd is Phil Para who has been performing in Australia since about 1974 & who is back performing again after a recent heart attack.
