Even though Neil Finn didn’t join Split Enz until 1976 & didn’t work in Australia at first (so falls outside the years I am writing about) I am compelled to note the stunning achievement for Crowded House: their induction this week into the ARIA (Australia) Hall of Fame. The synchronicity of the induction with the anniversary of the still talked about final Crowded House concert on the steps of the Sydney Opera House 20 years ago (Nov 24, 1996) is great. I hope huge numbers of music fans are able to see them perform again. Others of us will be glued to the television on Sunday night to watch the broadcast of that night’s show.
