On Sunday evening DoubleShot of Blues (John’s band) played at this tiny, narrow, almost hidden bar in Collingwood. It’s a great music venue; a gem with a comfy atmosphere but one I didn’t previously know about, yet I live not far from it. It has a big screen (displaying the band on stage) on the side wall opposite the bar in case you are positioned in spot where you can only hear; not see (& hear) the band.

DoubleShot had been on tv the night before as part of the Asylum programme on Ch 44. On Sunday night it was the first 2 sets they delivered as blues the DoubleShot way & it was a delivery slightly different from the last time I’d heard them. In this bar it was a heavier, fuller sound from these three musicians.
There were only a few people around as the music began but more & more began to arrive throughout the 2 sets. Some of those present wanted to chat but all present stopped to listen most of the time & the trio got lots of applause including well-deserved applause mid-delivery of one of the most emotive songs they play: Bluest Blue.
