Double Double Shot …

John Wiliams has two bands named Double Shot of Blues: one in Auckland, the other in Melbourne. John & the the NZ Double Shot are the guest band at the Auckland Blues Music Club jam night on Thursday Feb 22. This is being held at the Thirsty Dog in K’Rd in Ponsonby. And the following night they play at the Manurewa RSA.

The NZ band is John, bass guitarist Garry Clarke (who in Australia in the 70s was with King Harvest, then Carson) & drummer Ricky Ball, who is always remembered for his time with Ticket who crossed the ditch in the early 70s.

Australian fans aren’t left out though. Double Shot (Melbourne); the band that is John, Michael Emmerling (bass) and drummer Glenn Roche are playing at the Barrelhouse at the Idavue Estate on March 10th. That is a great venue. I saw them there back on November 12 & they were sensational. (See November 15, 2017 post about that show.)
